- Dr. Mandar Govind Paranjpe did his graduation from Rural Medical College, Pravaranagar in 1991.
- He did his PG in Ophthalmology (DOMS) from KEM Hospital, Pune in 1996.
- He started his private practice at Talegaon-Dabhade, Lonavala and subsequently in Pune in 1998.
- He worked as a visiting consultant at Sevadham Hospital, Kanhe Phata, a rural branch of KEM Hospital and at Walchandnagar Industries Hospital.
- He served in various capacities in POS such as MC member, Editor-POSTER, Jt Secretary and Hon. Secretary and Conference Coordinator.
- He also served in MOS as Secretary, Scientific Committee, Member MC and SC, and currently is Jt.Treasurer.
- He is a reviewer for IJO and JCOR.
- He has been actively involved in various organizational initiatives like proposing Day Care amendment bill to govt of Maharashtra.
- He runs a podcast channel-Ophthalmology and beyond-the mos podcast, for MOS.
- He has keen interest in academics, having participated as delegate and faculty in various scientific programs at district, state and national level.
- He served as President Rotary Club of Deccan Gymkhana, in 2009-10 and was instrumental in many social initiatives.
- He is an avid reader, a sports and fitness enthusiast and also composes poems.
- He is married to Dr. Sucharita, also an ophthalmologist and they have a daughter Radhika who is an architect.
- He believes in connecting with fellow colleagues, making new friends, lending a helping hand and thereby strengthening the human bond by being a part of organizations like POS.
