Members achievements MC 2025-26

We are happy to post here the achievements of our POS members during the MC 2025-26 tenure.

Dr Abha Kanade

  1. Chaired a session on clinical case  presentation , held at DMH on 25.05.2025.

2. Chairperson of the session at SSI conference held at Kochi on 8.6.2025. Lecture on the topic ” Intermittent Exotropia”in the same conference.

  1. MOSCON 2025 Goa – Judge for VDO session and also for Free Paper Session on Neuro ophthalmology session.

4. POS Spectrum 2025  – Chairperson for sessions on-  ‘ Paediatric Ophthalmology” and also in  session on “Ocular Allergies.” Lecture on the topic “Abnormal Head Posture”

Dr Jignesh Taswala

  1. awarded the DISTINGUISHED SERVICE AWARD from AIOS as appreciation for sincere & hard word from 2023 to 2026 as AIOS MC Member representing state of Maharashtra at the ANNUAL  AIOC JAIPUR on 11th March 2026.
  2. Won the Badminton Singles tournament at the recently held Annual YDA Sports Carnival held on 22nd March 26 & was awarded the trophy on 29th March 26 at YDA AGM. For the same award he was felicitated by our EX MP ,Mr Jagdish Mulik at Mahavir Jayanti function held by Kalyani nagar Jain Sangh on 31st March’26.

Dr Parikshit Gogate

  1. Son Dr Siddharth Gogate topped University in Delhi in MD dermatology last March. Daughter-in-law Dr. Vidushi Baveja Gogate topped MD Paychiatry. Both got married in April in Pune
  2. ⁠Dr. Vidushi came first in super speciality exam in India and joined NIMHANS for DM in Child & Adolescent Paychiatry
  3. ⁠Instruction course in American Academy of Ophthalmology on SICS for 7th time since 2005.
  4. ⁠International Hero medal by MOS at MOSCON Goa 2025.
  5. ⁠Member of Myopia Focus group of AIOS to formulate guidelines for myopia management.
  6. ⁠Distinguised Teacher award by Federation of Ophthalmoc Teachers of India in Jan 2026@ Bhubaneshwar.
  7. ⁠Completed 3 years as MOS representative in AIOS 2023-26
  8. ⁠Best paper on ophthalmic epidemiology in AIOC APAO April 2025: Prevalence of blindness and visual impairment across 7 provinces of Nepal
  9. ⁠Completed AIOS SEE study to estimate prevalence of myopia in school going children of India in Jalna district of Maharashtra February 2026
  10. ⁠Appreciation Award by IJO for review of manuscript AIOC 2026 Jaipur
  11. ⁠Baramati icon award at hands of Dy Chief Minister Mrs Sunetratai Pawar in March 2026.

– His name was featured in January 2026 Honour’s List  for commendable work in ophthalmology in year 2025.

EXPEDITIONS:-

1) Successfully completed an arduous yet mesmerising expedition in alps called  “Tour du Mont Blanc (TMB)” that circles the mighty Mont Blanc massif, spanning approximately 170 kilometers and crossing through France, Italy, and Switzerland in 2025

2) Successfully summitted & unfurled  Indian Tricolour on Mount Kilimanjaro ( highest peak in African continent & World’s highest free standing mountain -situated in Tanzania @ 19340 feet above sea level) on 5th March 2026.

Dr. Bhakti Sameer Datar

1) She is the Immediate Past President of Indian Dental Association, Pune Branch where she won the Best President Award at Maharashtra state level and Runners up at the National level.

2) She was awarded the ‘Abhaya Trailblazing Triumph Award’ by Women Dental Council at the National level for her various community outreach programs in women & children’s dental health.

3) Awarded with Garima Sakhi Sanmaan by IMA Pune Branch.

Shreyas Sameer Datar was shortlisted among the top 14 applicant mediator teams in the world to represent his university, the National Law School of India University Bengaluru, at the Mediation and Negotiation Tournament 2025 held at Vienna, Austria.

Dr Sachin Sudhir Kale

Successfully completed a Himalayan trekking expedition organized by Trek The Himalayas, achieving the trek from Gokyo Ri (5,357 m) to Everest Base Camp (5,364 m) in Nepal over 16 days, reaching a maximum altitude of 18,200 ft, from 24 October 2025 to 8 November 2025.

Dr Ketan Jathar

Participated at National level Lawn Tennis tournament for Doctors, IMTS at Jaipur Dec ’25. Glad to share I was the Bronze medalist in Singles and Silver medalist in Doubles and Mixed doubles.

Ms. Devika Jathar scored 98.6 % marks in SSC 10 th Board exams.

She stood first in her Abhinava Vidyalaya School.She was awarded the best outgoing student.

She also represented her school in badminton at Zonal matches.

Dr Sagar Wardhmane

*Recipient of back to back POS Awards

* POS SAHIBRAM SATYAVATI MADAN MEMORIAL AWARD ”  (2024-25 ) for OUTSTANDING CONTRIBUTION towards the SOCIETY by means of COMMUNITY WORK at the 17th POS Spectrum held at CV Raman Auditorium, lISER, Pune.

* POS Madhusudan Jhamwar Award “(2025-26) for Contribution towards POS at the hands of Dr.S.B.Muzumdar(Founder of Symbiosis University) at 18th POS Spectrum.

Dr Vitthal Satav

  • Completed 90km Comrades ultra marathon in South Africa in June 25.
  • Comrades Marathon is unique 90km of run in South Africa, between two cities Pietermaritzburg and Durban to be completed in 12 hours . It’s not on flat terrain but has to cross 16 small and large hills with elevation of around 1200 metres in 12 hours

Ms. Srushti Bhansali daughter of Dr. Trishala Bhansali.

  1. She has secured 1st rank in the entire BDS 2nd Year and has been honored with an award by the Indian Dental Association (IDA).
  2. She has also successfully published a review article titled:    “Role of Fungi in Oral Infections – A Comprehensive Literature Review for Dental Professionals”    in the International Journal of Recent Scientific Research.

Master Aryan Anand Tripathi (S/O Dr Nitika Tripathi)

Won the first rank in under 11 category in ANS Rapid chess tournament on 8 th February 2026.
